“I really felt like I was doomed to be depressed forever - like I couldn’t even remember what it was like NOT to be depressed. But the therapist I saw helped pretty quickly - she gave me hope, right in the first session”.
IPG Counseling - the Institute for Personal Growth - has led New Jersey in expert outpatient psychotherapy and counseling since 1983, and now also offers services in New York City. We blend heart and mind: compassionate, client-focused counseling informed by the latest in brain science and evidence-based treatment approaches.
We treat individuals, couples, families and children for problems ranging from depression and anxiety to addictions, relationship problems, sexual problems and life crises. Our client population is diverse in background and types of problems. We have a sub-specialty in AASECT-certified sex therapy and we are internationally known for our work with the LGBTQ communities and other lifestyle and sexual minorities.
Our group private practice includes more than three dozen counselors, therapists and AASECT-certified Sex Therapists. IPG's three locations in NJ and our new offices in NYC are convenient to south/central and northern New Jersey and all of New York City, including Bergen County, Essex County, Hudson County, Mercer County, Middlesex County, Monmouth County, Morris County, Somerset County and Union County.
We maintain day and evening hours - six days a week - and although we are not in-network with insurance companies, we do accept assignment of benefits. Please call the office to learn how we work with your insurance company.
